One of the services we offer at Synergy Services is assisting clients with the completion and submission of their annual Workman’s Compensation Return of Earnings (ROE) or W.AS.8. In short, this is a declaration to the Compensation Fund of all your employees’ earnings for the past year (same as tax year). Additionally, you are also required to provide projected earnings for the following year. Each registered business must submit a separate return.
The OID Act (Occupational Injuries and Diseases) replaces the Workmen’s Compensation Act. This provides compensation for any disablement or death resulting from injuries or diseases to employees in the course of their employment. The benefits are paid by the Compensation Fund, generated from contributions paid by all Employers.
All employers carrying out business within the Republic of South Africa are required to register. The amount payable to the Compensation Fund by Employers will be based on employee’s earnings and also the category in which the business is registered and will be issued to Employers on a Notice of Assessment (W.AS.6.)
We also assist clients with new OID Registrations (W.AS.2) with the Department of Labour. Whether you know you are a new company needing to register, or if you are unsure if you have previously registered and submitted your Return of Earnings – we are here to help every step of the way.
